No Lanyards (Elementary)
For physical safety and liability reasons, we are not allowing lanyards for elementary students, even if they are breakaway lanyards. Elementary principals will be implementing a procedure for mask storage (during mask breaks, lunch, recess). This procedure will be communicated next week.
Free Lunch Meals Extended | USDA
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending a number of nationwide waivers for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO) through the end of 2020 or until available funding runs out. What this means for Whitnall School District is that we are able to serve meals at no cost through December 31, 2020 or until funding runs out, whichever comes first. This service will begin September 8, 2020. It includes, at this time, lunch meals at the elementary, middle school and high school. Please note that it does not include “a la carte” items at the middle and high school.

If you believe you qualify for free or reduced lunch status, still be diligent in completing the application so that when the USDA waiver ends, your free or reduced status is still in effect. We will continue to update families with important information regarding this service. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Stichart, School Nutrition Manager at 414-525-8431 or ktischart@whitnall.com.

Schedules
All of our in-person students and distance learning students begin school next Tuesday, September 8th. Please reference your child’s schedule. As shared previously, some schedules were adjusted during the Sept. 1-4  time frame in order to balance class roster size to maximize our ability to physically distance students in the learning spaces. Please contact the WMS counselor, Jim Gableman, if you have any questions related to your child’s schedule.

Cold Lunch Containers

Student Arrival & Dismissal
Supervision starts at 8:25 AM. Please send walkers and students on bikes so they arrive on time but not too early. All students immediately walk into the school and proceed to their classroom using their grade level entrance at 8:25 AM.

K4 and K5 - door 10 (east)
grades 1 and 2 - door 1 (main/south)
grades 3, 4, 5 - door 4 (south/playground).

Students should exit these doors at dismissal too. Walkers from the north may enter door 8 (north-Godsell). This is not a car drop off area since we unload all buses and daycare vans here.

You are asked to follow the directions of staff directing the parking lot procedure linked HEREDo not park in the parking lot and cross traffic as this significantly slows the drop off and pick up process.
