RFP - Coordinating SNAP & Nutrition Supports, December 2, 2020 - A new grant opportunity from Share Our Strength has been released for state SNAP agencies to increase coordination between their SNAP program and other nutrition supports to reduce childhood hunger. The demonstration project will fund 3-5 states and APHSA will serve as the grants administrator to support cohort learning.

November 30, 2020 - The Government Accountability Office (GAO) released their most recent report to congressional committees, with findings and recommendations for health and humans services, including nutrition support.

Supporting Children and Families Affected by the Opioid Epidemic, November, 2020 - This report from the Urban Institute assesses the impacts of drug usage on children and families. Using a case study of two Appalachian communities significantly affected by the epidemic, the study also provides recommendations for systemic changes in child welfare and early childhood programs on increasing access to treatment and trauma informed care.
Strengthening Families Protective Factors, November 2020 - This report from Children’s Trust describes its adaptation of the Strengthening Families Framework—a research-based cost-effective approach developed by the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSPP)—to enhance child development and reduce child abuse and neglect. This report describes the five pillars of this approach and provides strategies to support young children's social and emotional well-being.

Factors Influencing Housing Decisions Among Low-Income Families, October 27, 2020 - The Annie E. Casey Foundation has released this report which talks about many of the factors that influence housing decisions among low-income families. This Annie E. Casey Foundation reviewed eight studies involving nearly 1,200 households from five different U.S. cities.
Advancing Health, Equity, and Well-Being through Community-State Data-Sharing Partnerships: Thought Leader Insights, November 2020 - A new report put out by The Centers for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) and Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH), is a culmination of more than 30 interviews, as well as insights from key thought leaders representing the federal, state, and community levels. These insights include community snapshots of data sharing efforts across the nation, to provide practical considerations to help guide community-state partnerships to improve health and well-being, and advance equity.
