APHSA is pleased to share our new report—SNAP Waivers and Adaptations During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Survey of State Agency Perspectives in 2020—cowritten with researchers from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Health and Social Policy (IHSP). This research seeks to understand perspectives from state SNAP administrators on the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from waivers and flexibilities used to preserve equitable access to SNAP during the COVID-19 pandemic. Measuring and Comparing Multiple Dimensions of Early Care and Education Access, May 2021 - This report from the Office of Planning and Research Evaluation (OPRE) evaluates families' access to home-based child care, both center-based and non-relationship-based, by child age, race, ethnicity, family income, and primary child care use type across the U.S. Using the 2012 National Survey of Early Care and Education (NSECE), this report also highlights the low level of child care access for families with infants and toddlers. It uses common data across local areas to identify child care deserts.
Child Care After COVID, June 2021 - This report from the Abell Foundation examines the availability, affordability, and costs of delivering regulated high quality child care in Baltimore, discusses the expansion of pre-k programs, and suggests opportunities for action.
State and Territory Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Investments in Early Care and Education Quality, June 2021 - This report from the Office of Planning and Research Evaluation (OPRE), and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation examines the planned and actual investments of states and territories, pre- and post- the 2014 Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act. Policy changes across four areas are covered: health and safety, consumer education, workforce support, and equal access to high-quality care for children in a family with low-income. Also, this report highlights the different funding sources that states and territories are using in making those financial investments.

White House Vaccination Month of Action, June 2021- Join the month-long mobilization effort in support of the HHS "We Can Do This" campaign to ensure as many people as possible receive at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot by July 4th. All month long, the campaign will have events and actions you can take — phone banks, text banks, and in-person events—to increase access, confidence, and equity for the COVID-19 vaccines across the country. Find resources and tools your organization can use to get the word out about how people can get vaccinated.
