Thanksgiving Offering
This year our Thanksgiving offering will go toward a special Christmas gift for our missionaries. Receiving this offering at Thanksgiving enables us to send the gifts to our missionaries in time for Christmas. These gifts are above and beyond our usual monthly financial support. Please pray and prepare your offering as the Lord leads.
Special envelopes are available in the Sanctuary lobby. You may also mail checks to the church with “Thanksgiving Offering” noted on the memo line. For giving online, you can select “Thanksgiving Offering” from the drop-down menu.

Christmas Cards for our Missionaries
This year, we would like to send Christmas greetings in the form of cards to all our missionaries along with the special offering we will be taking during the Thanksgiving season. Throughout the month of November, a list of all our missionaries along with Christmas cards are available in the Sunday school classes. If you would like to send one to a particular missionary that you feel connected with, that is appreciated! If you would like to send one to all of our missionaries, that’s great too. Please send cards to as many missionaries as you would like.
The deadline to return the cards is this Sunday, November 30.

Rush Hour Snacks
We love offering snacks at our weekly Wednesday night program, Rush Hour, that meets from 7:00 - 8:45 p.m. Our Jr. High and High School students enjoy a time of games, worship, and teaching with our Student Ministries staff.
Would you consider helping us provide snacks for our students?
(for Wednesdays and/or Sunday mornings, for 20-25 people)
What snacks can I drop off?
Student favorites include individually wrapped chips, crackers, cookies, and fruit snacks! It's extra helpful if they are individually wrapped bags, which keeps the unused snacks fresh, so we can use them anytime! See photo below for examples!
If you'd like to bake something homemade, just give us a heads up so we know when it's coming!
When can I drop off?
You can drop them off during the week in the office, or even leave them in the café on Sundays (clearly marked 'Student Ministries')

Please email Jonathan (jbalentine@sangabrielcommunity.org) for more info. Thanks!

The Biggest Story Advent: 25 Lift-the-Flap Devotions for Families
Kevin DeYoung & Don Clark
Ages 6-12
Kids love the anticipation of the Christmas season, opening advent calendars and counting down to December 25th. How can parents build on that excitement and teach kids that Jesus’s birth isn’t just one story of the Bible but is a central piece of God’s glorious plan to redeem his people?
Kevin DeYoung, pastor and author of the popular Biggest Story Bible Storybook, has written 25 brand new advent devotions for kids that start from the beginning of Scripture and feature a daily surprise. Each reading opens with a fun lift-the-flap page, which kids open to reveal a Bible passage and colorful illustration. On the opposite page, DeYoung retells a related Bible story or prophecy that foretold Jesus’s coming, and shares a simple prayer to recite. Helping kids understand God’s redemption story from Genesis to Jesus’s birth, this devotional is a fun, interactive way to center your holiday traditions on Christ and to see how he is the fulfillment of promises God made throughout Scripture.

Assistive Listening System Available in Sanctuary
We offer an Assistive Listening System in the Sanctuary for those that have mild to moderate hearing loss. These small devices will provide direct audio during the entire worship service and will allow you to adjust the volume to meet your individual needs. You must sit in the main center section of the sanctuary to use the system. The system is not available in the North or South chapels.
If you would like to take advantage of this new system, please stop by the sound booth.

Garrett & Lia Trainor
Serenissima Ministries
We Made it!
It was a sad goodbye, particularly to Lia's parents who graciously hosted us for two and a half months in their home, and difficult journey, but we are now in Italy! Many thanks to everyone who prayed for us as we went. While it was more eventful than we had hoped with overtired children, a migraine, and Levi vomiting on Lia, we found ourselves resting in God's provision and mercy that flighs were on time and didn't take any longer than they did.
Needless to say, we are very tired. Our Italian friends have so sweetly taken care of us by managing transportation and providing delicious meals.
Our immediate next steps are to find an apartment so Garrett can establish residency and to find a car. He also has to stop by the Questura (the police station where immigrants go to announce their presence). Please pray these happen quickly so we can work on other goals that are time-sensitive. Pray for wisdom and for our reintegration into Italian culture and ministry. Pray for Daniel in his ability to learn Italian and to feel at home here.
We thank God for caring for all our needs and for being more than worthy of all sacrifice.

Bob & Maria Hill
GEM Greece
Prayer and Praise
The semester at the Greek Bible College is well under way—nearing the end, and I continue to enjoy teaching. And our hands are full with responsibilities at the local church plant we are leading here in our community of Agia Paraskevi. We have a significant project going at the Greek Bible College. The “front” landscaping has long been completed—with continuing care—but there wasn’t money available to properly do the back area. Our grounds manager has great ideas for making a fire pit and outdoor assembly area in that space, and during the last couple of months has really been moving ahead. This month we had a volunteer who came from a church in Texas, and did some fantastic work with decking, plumbing and landscaping. It’s exciting to see the improvements on the grounds. Our campus has always been a refreshing paradise in a busy cosmopolitan center!
For a couple of “senior citizens,” we are remarkably healthy and active and are grateful to God for the energy to keep active. We just obtained a hundred “Christian Calendars” to give out during this season of the year. These are little silent evangelists, with a rip-off page for each day of the year, with a little Gospel message. Recently, Maria has also given out many New Testaments to various contacts she makes. We appreciate your prayers for these.
One of the hardest parts of serving here is being away from our children and grandchildren. We do keep good communication with them—thanks to modern technologies! Now each of our children has children who are becoming autonomous and beginning to leave the home.
Much love from both of us,
Bob and Maria Hill
