Book of the Week

The True King

by Nancy Guthrie & Jenny Brake

Ages 3-7

There are lots of books that tell stories about kings and kingdoms, princes and princesses... There is only one book, however, about a king and a kingdom that is the truest story ever told.

This gorgeously illustrated book will introduce children to the big story of the Bible ― the story of the True King who rules over his people in perfect goodness and a kingdom that will last forever.

Assistive Listening System Available in Sanctuary

We offer an Assistive Listening System in the Sanctuary for those that have mild to moderate hearing loss. These small devices will provide direct audio during the entire worship service and will allow you to adjust the volume to meet your individual needs. You must sit in the main center section of the sanctuary to use the system. The system is not available in the North or South chapels.

If you would like to take advantage of this new system, please stop by the sound booth.

Sign up to provide flowers on Sunday morning! Arrangements cost $45; Fanny’s Flowers will deliver them to the church before the Worship Service.

The arrangement is yours to take home after the service.

Prayer & Praise

In the last four months, we shared the Gospel with about 1600 individuals with 90 people making decisions. We have distributed 227 Bibles. Seven people were baptized. Praise God for my wife’s online ministry to sisters and newcomers. This praise came from one of our disciple partners in ministry:

I was praying that the Lord would direct me, and He sent me to places I had never thought of. With the blessing of the Lord Jesus, I was able to share spiritual conversations with many middle and high school students. The Lord Jesus Christ was always with me, even in the most difficult moments, and helped me give them convincing answers that the Lord Jesus is the Savior, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords.

One night, I was having dinner at a restaurant, and I noticed that one of the people working there looked tired. I asked him if he was okay, and he told me that he had been sick for three weeks with a bad back, and that he had to work despite his illness because he was supporting a family. I asked him if I could pray for him and he agreed, so I prayed with him for healing.

Four days later, I visited him again, and he surprised me with a big hug and thanksgiving, and told me he was fine. I told him, “Thank the Lord Jesus Christ, He healed you.” After that, we arranged a meeting outside of work, where I talked to him about the Lord Jesus Christ and His miracles, and gave him a copy of the Bible.

We had several subsequent meetings, and there was constant communication, with constant prayer for him and his family. He himself testified that the Lord Jesus Christ was the personal savior of his life, because he felt a peace and serenity he had never known before. He told me that his health has improved, and whenever he reads the Bible, he feels that the Lord Jesus is with him in every detail of his life.

He asked that we pray together more often, so that his relationship with Jesus Christ would increase. Amen.

Another believer has used his knowledge of social media to share the Gospel. The effects of the ministry have been visible; many young people have started asking about the faith, and people who were far away are now following the posts regularly.

  • Pray for our follow-up work, discipling, church planting & new groups that meet.
  • Pray for those that heard the message. May God grant them repentance, leading to the knowledge of the truth.
  • Pray for the sisters and the new women's ministry.
  • Pray for abundant fruit in internet ministry.
  • Pray for visits with ministers in the different cities and guidance as we make decisions about appointing new ministers.
  • Pray for protection for new believers who have been baptized, that the Lord will strengthen them in times of persecution.
  • Pray for new ministers in places where there are no churches.
  • Pray for the sports ministry and the Africa Cup, which will be an opportunity to share the Word of God.
  • Pray for the unity of the churches in the country.
  • Pray for my family and me and our needs.

Chris & Laura Moyer

World Team France and Global Member Care

After a long period of persistent health struggles, we’ve made the challenging but hopeful decision for Laura to temporarily return to the United States for medical evaluation and treatment. We’ve been blessed by a doctor from one of our supporting churches who has offered to personally coordinate a thoughtful, comprehensive approach to her care. We’re deeply grateful for this unexpected provision.

Based on current medical recommendations, we anticipate that Laura’s time in the U.S. may extend from six to twelve months. During this time, the rest of our family will remain in France to maintain as much stability as possible for the kids, all of whom are in crucial academic years. The goal is for Laura to receive the care and rest she needs and, in time, to rejoin us in France.

Prayer & Praise

  • All three kids have started their school year well and are adjusting with resilience.
  • For the generous doctor in the U.S. offering coordinated care for Laura.
  • For the many teammates and friends who have already stepped in to offer help and support here in France.
  • For clarity and effectiveness in Laura’s medical care.
  • For Chris as he manages the kids, household, and ongoing ministry responsibilities during this time apart.
  • For continued peace and strength for the whole family in the months ahead.
