Bible Institute Courses

Wednesdays in January, 7:00 -8:30 p.m. | Stewart Lounge

Grow in your knowledge and love of the Old Testament in the coming year! Our Bible Institute will offer three four-week OT Survey courses this winter and spring that together will provide a solid summary of each book, as well as an overview of God’s plan throughout salvation history. Your ability to understand and appreciate the New Testament will be deepened as well. 

The first course will cover Genesis through Deuteronomy and is scheduled for the Wednesday nights in January (the 8^th, 15^th, 22^nd, and 29^th). The classes will be held from 7:00–8:30 p.m. in the Stewart Lounge and Pastor Greg will be the teacher. Courses covering the other OT books are scheduled for March and May.

Women's Wednesday Night Bible Reading Group

Wednesday Nights starting on January 8th, 7:00 - 8:45 p.m. | Mothers' Room

Our group opens God’s word together, reading large sections of scripture out loud and responding in discussion and prayer. Bring your Bible and come when you can, or come every week! For more info contact Heather Halverson at Halverson.hedy@gmail.com

SGCC is pleased to present an Evening with Dr. Al Mohler on Monday February 24, 2025.

Dr. Mohler serves as President of the Southern Baptist Seminary in Kentucky and hosts two podcasts: “The Briefing” and “Thinking in Public”.  Dr. Mohler’s mission is to address contemporary issues from a consistent and explicit Christian worldview. He has authored numerous books and is a prominent voice on issues of culture affecting Christians around the globe.

PRAISES & PRAYER

On November 30th we hosted an open day, so that people of all Christian denominations could visit us and spend a day at the college, so that they could get to know us better (and the other way round) and to experience a day at the GrBC. Pray for the young people who visited the GrBC – may the college be a source of encouragement and lead to a deeper knowledge of God through His Word. 

After praying for a long period of time, my family and I have decided to leave our church of many years and attach ourselves to a new family. Danae, the kids and I are now members of a small church plant, the Pangrati Church at the center of Athens. Please pray for our family at our new Church: may the Spirit of God empower us to serve the brethren faithfully and lovingly. 

God to guide any future partnerships for the proclamation of the Gospel. 

Along with two friends, we’ve been working on a conference for people in need of theological education and for young men and women interested in becoming involved in ministry in various settings. Well, we have a name: “Rewind Initiative” and the dates will be Feb.14th – 16th 2025. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but so far things have been moving very smoothly, God be praised. 

We praise God for His guidance and protection, we thank Him for the wonderful family he has brought together in Jesus Christ, we thank Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit who unites us to the Lord and empowers us to work for the Kingdom.
