Women’s Conference

Joy Amidst Conflict

Friday Evening, April 26 through Saturday, April 27

In The Basement

Please join us for a sweet time of learning, worshiping our great God and fellowship.

Our Speaker will be Michelle Spansel. Michelle grew up in Southern Ohio before attending and graduating from The Master’s College with a Liberal Studies degree and a teaching credential. Michelle has been involved in education for the last 30 years. Her greatest joy has been the ministry of mothering her 7 children and serving alongside her husband as a pastor’s wife. Mark and Michelle are planting Redeemer Church in Santa Clarita and her passion is to equip women with the truth of God’s Word.

We will also have six of our own ladies from church who will be sharing their personal testimonies of finding joy during difficult times.

Mark your calendars, so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to eat, fellowship, worship and learn together!

Save the Date! Sign ups will begin soon.

We are now able to offer an Assistive Listening System in the Sanctuary for those that have mild to moderate hearing loss. These small devices will provide direct audio during the entire worship service and will allow you to adjust the volume to meet your individual needs. You must sit in the main center section of the sanctuary to use this new system. The system is not available in the North or South chapels.

If you would like to take advantage of this new system, please contact Jon Bialon via e-mail at jbialon@sangabrielcommunity.org. We pray this new tool will be a blessing to the congregation.

Please share the names of any men you believe are worthy of consideration for the Elder Board with a member of the Nominating Committee by Sunday, March 17. The committee members are Markus Acosta, Nancy DeBoer, Lalo Garcia, Caleb Halverson, Jon Peirson, Adrian Pujayana, Bill Roberts, Lisa Rowe, Lynn Salazar, and Fred Young.

We are so grateful to Nathan and Heidi Smith for completing the big project of organizing all the books in the church library over the past few months. They have catalogued every book, created new library sections and reorganized many of the books under new sub-categories so it is easier to find books you are looking for. Their ongoing work also includes stamping all new books and following up with church members who checked out books several months ago. Church staff has also added new shelf section tags to the entire collection.

Next up, Nathan will be do occasional book reviews and highlight books from the SGCC collection in future Connections. Heidi heads up the Dust Buster crew who cleans the library every month.

Thank you, Nathan and Heidi!

Membership Classes will be offered during the Sunday hour beginning April 28. This four-week series is perfect for those interested in pursuing church membership or just wanting to learn more about SGCC. Please contact Garrett Trainor for more information at gtrainor@sangabrielcommunity.org.

Pastor Dave Halverson

Thank you for your prayer for my recent trip to Malta!

It was a very productive and enjoyable time. I am thankful that I was able to have several conversations with people engaged in gospel ministry in North Africa and the Middle East including missionaries supported by our church. In spite of the many difficulties and opposition from the dominant religious culture, the gospel is advancing, and the church is growing in the region.

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” (Psalm 122:1)

To encourage us to prepare our hearts for worship,

here are the songs for this Sunday:

The Solid Rock (My Hope is Built) - Edward Mote, William Bradbury

Christ Our Hope in Life and Death - M. Merker, J. Kauflin, M. Papa,

M. Boswell, K. Getty

Deliver Again - Donny Hoover

How Firm a Foundation - Words by "K" in Rippon's Hymns (1787)

Almost Home - Matt Papa, Matt Boswell, Laura Papa

What'er My God Ordains is Right - Samuel Radigast, Severus Gastorious, Jeff Bourque

Check out our Spotify playlist with this week's worship music!
