Last Information Meeting of 2024

Pastor Steve will be visiting Sunday School classes to go over the annual budget in advance of Annual Meeting. This Sunday, June 23, we'll have our last information meeting in the Stewart Lounge for the Horizons and New Establishment classes.

Annual Meeting & Brunch on June 30th

On Sunday, June 30th, after a short break following the worship service to pick up your children, please join us in the Sanctuary for our

Annual Meeting.

Then, we'll wrap up our celebration of the year in the Gym with a potluck brunch, Annual Slide show and time of praise to the Lord for what he's done at SGCC.

Please bring an egg casserole/main dish, fruit, or pastries to share. No nuts please!

Our team will receive the food items at the Palin Kitchen window between 8:30-8:55 that morning. We will have access to warmers and refrigeration. Serving utensils will be provided.

If you have any questions, please email Natalie Halverson (nhalverson@sangabrielcommunity.org)

Sign Up for a Backyard BBQ

Backyard BBQs are a great opportunity for people to connect and spend time with their church family this July. We are hoping that God uses this time to help people make new connections and deepen relationships. We hope you sign up to attend one!

After you sign up, you'll be connected with your Host where they can provide any additional information or coordinate with you all further.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Natalie Halverson, nhalverson@sangabrielcommunity.org

Prayers

Hajj is June 14th - 16th this year. The most significant parts of the pilgrimage take place during the first three days of the Hajj. Since the Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, all Muslims are commanded to perform the Hajj at least once in their lifetime if they are able.Everything that Islam forbids comes with a warning of punishment in this life and certainly in the hereafter. Likewise, everything it proscribes comes with a promise of personal reward. Sometimes that reward is a blessing or sign of God’s favor, but the most sought-after reward for many Muslims is the remission of their own sins. Therefore, many men and women make the pilgrimage not just once (as is required of all Muslims who are able), but again and again over the course of their lives. Pray that the increasingly commercialization of the Hajj will lead to disillusionment among Muslims. Pray that they will be fed up with empty rituals, dead works, and hypocrisy. Pray that they will come to know that salvation from their sins is only found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are grateful for your prayers.

For His Glory and Praise,

Steve & Sally

Praises

We are thankful for the 41st graduation. People from many different backgrounds come to learn more about the Scriptures. I am thankful for all the students, faculty members, staff members and of course, all the people that pray for us for the completion of one more academic year.

Prayer

During the summer I will pursue the publication of a series of philosophical articles on human dignity, technology and transhumanism, as well as preach the Word in various churches in Athens and try to organize an online apologetics ministry.

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” (Psalm 122:1)

To encourage us to prepare our hearts for worship,

here are the songs for this Sunday:

God of Wonders – Marc Byrd, Steve Hindalong
