We love offering snacks at our weekly Wednesday night program, Rush Hour, that meets from 7:00 - 8:45 p.m. Our Jr. High and High School students enjoy a time of games, worship, and teaching with our Student Ministries staff.

Would you consider helping us provide snacks for our students?

(for Wednesdays and/or Sunday mornings, for 20-25 people)

What snacks can I drop off?:

Student favorites include individually wrapped chips, crackers, cookies, and fruit snacks! It’s extra helpful if they are individually wrapped bags, which keeps the unused snacks fresh, so we can use them anytime! See photo below for examples!

If you’d like to bake something homemade, just give us a heads up so we know when it’s coming!

When can I drop off?:

You can drop them off during the week in the office, or even leave them in the café on Sundays (clearly marked ‘Student Ministries’)

Nigeria

Hello friends and family!

The Lord has been so kind to me through wonderful relationships and engineering opportunities since my last update. In this update, I wanted to highlight a trip I took to northern Nigeria several weeks ago!

I joined an SIM medical outreach to the city of Potiskum in Yobe State in the northeast and then continued on to Kano in the North several days later.

I was really grateful that God opened the door to this trip because I could experience a bit of life in the predominantly Muslim north through bringing the love of Christ to two remote villages.

God used our team of medical professionals, those serving the children, and myself in an administrative role (line management and logistics, loosely speaking) to care for over 300 patients in two days. The vast majority of patients were Muslims, yet they heard the Gospel through mass preaching and counseling while receiving the free medical care.

One takeaway from this outreach is our calling to be faithful servants of God. We plant and water and trust God to bring the growth amongst those we served. To God be the glory!

I then had the incredible opportunity to continue over to the city of Kano for several days. This is a region where approximately 96% of residents are Muslim, which was quite evident from the abundant mosques and scarcity of churches.

This was a big shift from the Christian-majority city of Jos I have been in this entire summer and really opened my eyes to the need for more laborers in this plentiful harvest field.

There are lots of incredible experiences I had in just one day of touring this busy, populous city, and I can’t possibly include them all in this update.

Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to hear more (or just see more photos!)

Prayer requests:

  • Pray for God to open the eyes of Muslims to the truth that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus.

  • Pray that the hundreds of Muslim villagers our medical outreach team ministered to would understand the Gospel and respond in repentance and saving faith.

  • Pray that I honor the Lord as I faithfully close my time in Nigeria and God willing return to the US in early August.

To encourage us to prepare our hearts for worship,

here are the songs for this Sunday:

All Creatures of Our God and King – St. Francis of Assisi

I Will Glory in My Redeemer – Steve & Vikki Cook

How Firm a Foundation – “K” in Rippons Hymns

Give Us Clean Hands - Charlie Hall

Rock of Ages – Augustus M. Toplady, Thomas Hastings
