Dear Sisters,

Shanah Tovah Sisterhood family! May this year bring more sweetness, joy and time well spent together. The holidays begin this week with Erev Rosh HaShanah on October 2 at 7:30pm, where your Sisterhood board will light the candles welcoming in the new year. Along with our traditional Yom Kippur services, there is a special community service on October 7: October 7th Marking One Year, being held at B'nai Jehudah. The holidays continue as we rejoice in celebrating Simchat Torah on October 24.

May you, your family and family of heart find peace in the tradition of our holiday services. Whether you find delight in our puppet shows, or comfort during our Yom Kippur afternoon Contemplative Music, or joy in greeting friends around the city during Sukkot, there is something for everyone. Chag Sameach dear sisters. May it be a year of peace.

L'shalom,

Barbie Rogoff, Sisterhood President

Wednesdays, 6:45pm - 9:00pm

October 9 - In a player's home. Address will be provided in email distribution.

November 6 and November 20 - At B'nai Jehudah.

Mah Jongg is a wonderful way to have fun, meet new friends and see each other through the busy fall. We are playing most dates at B’nai Jehudah and if you are on the distribution list, you will be reminded of any change of location. New players are welcome. Come watch a few hands, we’ll teach you and you’ll be playing in no time.  To be added to our Mah Jongg email distribution list or if you have questions, please email Lois Bernstein.

Mitzvah Moments

Join us Sunday mornings during religious school to sit, chat, knit or crochet. Bring your own project or help us create caps for Care Beyond the Boulevard and hat/baby blankets for new moms in need. We include these homemade treats with a basket of "new mom" goodies. If you are new to the craft, join us! If you are ‘seasoned’, join us. We meet in the Kikar by the Judaica Shop. For more information, contact Debbie Dubinsky. Be sure to check the synagogue news and events: if religious school is canceled, we will not be meeting.

Three volunteer opportunities on Monday, October 21

1:00pm-2:00pm - Click here to help make PB&J sandwiches for Micah Ministries. Food insecurity is at an all-time high, and we are needed now more than ever. Held at B'nai Jehudah.

2:00pm-3:00pm - Click here to help prep cookie dough in our kitchen for Shabbat Onegs. Space is limited to 4 people. Held at B'nai Jehudah.

5:00pm-7:00pm - Click here to help Micah Ministries serve dinner to the community. It's a very meaningful way to spend a few hours. Held at Independence Boulevard Christian Church, 506 Gladstone Avenue, Kansas City, MO. Contact Marcia Soltz for more information or to set up a carpool.
