Angela Martin was laid off form her mortgage lending job and in need of work.
Since she had started nursing school some time ago and had hopes of of going back some day, she took a job as a dialysis technician. While working in this position, a co-worker told her about OhioMeansJobs Lorain County and suggested that they may be able to help her finish her nursing program. Angela figured it was worth a try and "the rest is history, " said Angela.
Angela was so pleased to have not only her nursing classes paid for, but her uniforms, books and all other nursing supplies including her NCLEX exam following graduation. "My awesome, Workforce Development Specialist, Kim Duncan, was great and encouraged me throughout my training" stated Angela.

OMJLC Bids Farewell to Kim Duncan
|
|
We bid a fond farewell to Kim "Kimmy" Duncan as she begins a new chapter in her career with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. We have had our ups and we have had our downs, we have worked hard and we have played hard, and at the end of the day we can take pride in the work we have done and the customers we have served. We have a great team at OMJLC, and as a Workforce Development Specialist at OMJLC for the past nine plus years Kim has been a key player on our team. We hate to see her go, but we wish her the best in her new opportunity with OOD!
