The Corner Celebrates 10 Years
of Diversity and Community Belonging
As a popular landing point for new immigrants, St. James Town has been described as one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse neighbourhoods in North America; a celebration of this diversity is reflected in The Corner’s tagline, “A World Within A Block”. A fire that required all tenants to evacuate the building for over a year delayed the opening but provided an opportunity for The Corner to act as a hub of coordination and support for residents who had been displaced.
