Take Me Out to the Ballpark!

Friday, July 7th at 7 pm

If you live near Knoxville, join us on Friday, July 7th, at Smokies Stadium for the Smokies versus the Birmingham Barons. The game starts at 7 PM. Enjoy fireworks after the game. Our special inclusive rate is $14, and the deadline for payment is Friday, June 23rd.

Cornerstone Aftercare Cookout

Wednesday, August 16th at 5 pm

Join us at 5 PM for hot dogs and all the trimmings. Aftercare groups start at 6 PM following the cookout.

2023 Annual Race for Recovery

We are excited to announce that our 2023 5K Race for Recovery was a huge success. This event brought together 204 participants and approximately 40 staff and volunteers. Together, we raised $16,104 for Susannah’s House. The success of this event would not have been possible without our generous donors, race participants, and wonderful staff and volunteers. We want to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone involved.

Mornings with Dennis

Join Dennis Murphy for Aftercare via Zoom, Monday-Thursday at 10 AM. Dennis has been with Cornerstone for almost nine years, starting with the transportation department before becoming a Recovery Coach. Dennis does an outstanding job following up with our clients after discharge.

He says, “I love what I do, and I love people. I want to see them heal and recover from addiction.” Dennis loves encouraging people along the way and extends an invitation to join him.

Alumni Spotlight: Marguerite E.

Marguerite is an alumnus of Cornerstone and one of our longest-running volunteers. She has facilitated one of our Wednesday evening Aftercare groups since 2006. When asked what keeps her returning, she replied, “Doing my Aftercare group helps keep me sober, and it’s the highlight of my week, every week.”

Aftercare/Meeting Schedule

Our aftercare program is gaining steam again. We have been seeing a steady rise in attendance for a few months now, and we would like to add more options throughout the week. It’s great seeing our long-time volunteers working with our newer volunteers to facilitate these groups. By adding more of these groups, we will need to have more facilitators. If you think this might be your niche, talk to Patty Wilbanks about how to become a facilitator.
