Delaware’s all-sectors electricity price rose 9.8% year over year, increasing from 13.81¢/kWh in January 2025 to 15.17¢/kWh in January 2026 — slightly above the national increase of 8.3%. Within the region, Delaware’s January 2026 rate remained below Pennsylvania (16.60¢), Maryland (19.59¢), New Jersey (19.77¢), and Washington, D.C. (24.44¢), but above Virginia (13.14¢). WE'RE HIRING AN EVENTS MANAGER

The events manager advances the State Chamber’s mission through the planning and execution of strategic events that support networking, advocacy and public policy, and organizational growth. This role oversees a portfolio of signature events — including the Annual Dinner — as well as recurring events like networking breakfasts and special events such as candidate forums. The events manager works closely with internal leadership and external partners to ensure events are well-executed, mission-aligned, and financially successful.

Did you know that nationwide data center construction has now surpassed new office building construction? For many contractors who are “regulars” in the commercial building space, they will attest to the slowdown of commercial building projects and the rapid rise of data center construction. Jasmine Yu, chief investment officer at Bryn Mawr Trust Advisors, was our keynote speaker at our Spring Manufacturing & Policy Conference last week. She shared the slide posted below with attendees, and just about everyone, apart from those in attendance from the building trades and commercial construction world, was taken aback. Read more >
