St. Therese the Little Flower
1873-1897
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as the "Little Flower," was a French Carmelite nun who died young at age 24 but gained a worldwide reputation for her spiritual teachings on finding holiness through simple, loving acts. Born in 1873 to a devout family, she entered the convent at 15 and developed her "Little Way" spirituality, which emphasized trust in God's love and performing small, everyday actions with great love. Her posthumously published autobiography, Story of a Soul, revealed her profound spiritual insights, leading to her canonization and recognition as a Doctor of the Church.
Each class is assigned a male and female patron saint. St. Thérèse of Lisieux is one of the Patron Saints Fr. Pat has assigned to our 3rd Graders.
