The Cougar Compass

A Message from Mrs. Martin

A compass gives direction and helps to guide us. Like a compass can guide us to where we physically need to go, studying the virtues and the lives of the saints will always guide us to Jesus Christ.

Dear Jesus, You are kindness itself. I desire to show charity toward my neighbor through my thoughts, words, and actions. When others meet me, let them meet YOU in me!

Called to Be Saints

At Corpus Christi School we love celebrating the lives of the Saints! A patron saint has been assigned to each class by Fr. Pat. These class patron saints will remain the same for each class during their entire time at CCS. The chosen saints offer our students more chances to interact with our Catholic faith by learning about their class saints. This year we are going to share more about our class saints via the Cougar Compass. We hope you will enjoy learning about them too!

St. Matthew the Apostle

Feast Day: September 21st

Matthew, also known as Levi, was a tax collector in Judea at the time of Jesus. One day as he sat at his work, Jesus saw him and said to him, "Follow me." Matthew immediately left his work and his friends to obey the Lord's command. He became one of the apostles, an evangelist, and a martyr for Jesus.

Each class is assigned a male and female patron saint. St. Matthew is the male patron saint for the Class of 2033.
