Lessons on Faith + Virtue

Dear Families,

Yesterday our 8th Graders gathered with other students around the Archdiocese of Mobile to watch the livestream of the Installation Mass for Archbishop Mark S. Rivituso. Afterwards, they greeted our new archbishop in Cathedral Square. It was an exciting event for all and I know our students will remember it for years to come! We hope you enjoy a few photos from this joyful and memorable day.

In Christ,

Kristy F. Martin

Principal

This Week's Virtue is Generosity

MeaningGiving of oneself in a willing and cheerful manner for the good of others.

Ways to Cultivate Generosity

Generosity looks like:

Spending time with someone else.

Generosity sounds like:

Would you like to play with me? Would you like to sit with us?

Prayer for Generosity

Lord, teach me to be generous, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to look for any reward, save that of knowing that I do your holy will.

Called to Be Saints

At Corpus Christi School we love celebrating the lives of the Saints! A patron saint has been assigned to each class by Fr. Pat. These class patron saints will remain the same for each class during their entire time at CCS. The chosen saints offer our students more chances to interact with our Catholic faith by learning about their class saints. This year we are going to share more about our class saints via the Cougar Compass. We hope you will enjoy learning about them too!

Blessed Carlo Acutis

1991-2006

Blessed (soon to be saint) Carlo Acutis was an Italian Catholic youth who died from leukemia at age 15, becoming the first millennial to be beatified by the Church. He is known for his deep faith, devotion to the Eucharist, and unique ability to use his computer skills to create online exhibits about Catholic miracles, which inspired many. Carlo's life is a model for young people on how to use technology for good and live a life of holiness, with his influence continuing to grow after his beatification in 2020. Carlo Acutis will be canonized a saint on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Each class is assigned a male and female patron saint. Blessed Carlo Acutis is the male patron saint for the Class of 2034.

First Friday Adoration

First Friday: Sept. 5th

Adoration + Saint Shirts

Tomorrow is First Friday and that means our students will spend time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament after our morning Mass and throughout the day. This is also the day that students may wear their blue saint shirts. CCS saint shirts from any year may be worn. Saint shirts ordered prior to August 12th have arrived and are being delivered to your child's classroom. If you ordered a shirt after August 12th, we will fill the orders from our inventory in the order they were received. If you did not receive your shirt, please contact the school office.
