The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to nurture every child by providing the opportunities to grow in faith, achieve academic success, and serve others as disciples of Jesus
Dear Parents,
What a phenomenal first few weeks we have had! Wonderful things are happening at our school, and we look forward to experiencing them with our students and their families. Thank you for giving your child the gift of a Catholic education and choosing to be our partners in the education of your children.

Bible Verse and Prayer Focus of the Month
Each month students learn a Bible verse. We recite it together at school during our morning announcements and prayers. We also pray a particular prayer together each month.
Our Bible verse for the month of September is: Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Our prayer focus is The Our Father. We would love for you to work with your students at home.
We would love for you to practice the verse with your children at home.

As a reminder, we strive to incorporate the Education in Virtues program into our daily schedule. This program focuses on the development of the whole person and equips our children to strive for holiness, which is where we will find true happiness.
Each week, we are focusing on a particular virtue as a school. Students have been learning the definition as well as what living the virtue looks and sounds like in our actions and words.
The Cardinal Virtue we are focusing on is Justice, and the related virtues we will focus on in the next two weeks are Generosity and Gratitude:
Generosity (Week of 9/5)
Meaning
Giving of oneself in a willing and cheerful manner for the good of others
Ways to Cultivate
-
Ages 6 and up: Share your items and time, “Would you like to have one of my cookies?”
-
Ages 10 and up: Share, give away extra items.
-
Ages 12 and up: Give of yourself, focus on one act of charity/kindness each day.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, let me share myself with others as You share your life with me.
Gratitude (Week of 9/11)
Meaning
Thankful disposition and heart
Ways to Cultivate
-
Ages 6 and up: Smile at your mom after she cooks you dinner, Say “Thank you!”
-
Ages 10 and up: Write a thank you note, take into consideration the blessings in your life
-
Ages 12 and up: Say thank you even for difficult or unwanted things (homework, cleaning your room, etc.) Count the blessings in your life.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, Please give me a thankful heart, realizing that all I have comes from you.

If you are unable to attend the session at Corpus, there are monthly sessions held at St. Dominic Catholic Church on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. More information can be found at the Archdiocesan website, www.mobarch.org
If you have attended a training in the past, you do not need to come to the training, you must complete your retraining each year online.
