A Message from the Principal

Dear KCHS Families,                June 20, 2018

The school year ended with a beautiful graduation ceremony. The Kolbe Cathedral community is proud of our young men and women who are moving on to higher education. A special congratulations goes our to our valedictorian, Amberlynn Pantoja (who will be attending NYU), and salutatorian, Tiah Booker (who will be attending UCONN), for their hard work throughout their four years at Kolbe. The class of 2018 has much to look forward to in the future.

The sports teams ended their year with the Sports Banquet on June 12th. Over 100 guests took part in a celebration of a great sports season. The underclassmen on the Boys Basketball team received their state championship rings. The Baseball Team was finally able to honor their seniors and celebrate their historic season. The Track Team also made history by having athletes complete in the State Open. The Kolbe Cathedral community is proud of the accomplishments of our student-athletes and coaches. We look forward to more success in 2019.

Finally, as we send our students off into the summer break, please pray for them as they continue to develop as young adults. May God fill their mind and hearts with love to carry out into the world. We pray for all of you who support the mission of Kolbe Cathedral as we will all continue to "Work Hard and Be Nice".

Sincerely,

Henry Rondon
Principal

Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador
Jada Lee ('20) is completing her sophomore year as the 2018 CT Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar Ambassador for Kolbe Cathedral. This annual seminar invites sophomores throughout the state of Connecticut to spend a weekend on a college campus where they learn about leadership skills and how to apply these skills in order to make a positive impact on their community. Jada shared how she gained so much new information and knowledge on the topics of diversity, volunteerism, and excellence. One of the quotes that impacted her was "Rejection is redirection." Jada is ready to enter her junior year with a new sense of her own leadership skills as she reflects on her own experience of rejection and uses that to redirect herself to becoming a better person who will change the world.
