We want to invite your students to Discover MO West Day on March 1, 2025. This free on-campus (tour/exploration/event) is open to all high school students to discover all Missouri Western offers. At the event, students will:

• Meet and talk to our amazing faculty to explore our different academic programs
• Connect with on-campus organizations
• Tour our beautiful campus
• Attend our “Affordability Matters” session to learn about scholarships and financial aid opportunities
• Receive a free lunch at the MWSU dining hall for you and your guests

We would be honored to host your students on campus to show them what life could be like as a Griffon, discover what MO West offers, and more! If possible, please  share this invitation to your students' families via email and by using your school's preferred communication channel (newsletter, weekly update, direct emails, etc.). We would love to see them!

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is excited to announce the upcoming Beyond the Likes - Social Media, Mental Health & You Virtual Youth Forum. Developed for youth ages 14-24 this event will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM CST.

This two-day, interactive event is designed to educate and empower youth (ages 14–24) to navigate the digital world with confidence. Participants will explore the impact of social media on mental health, engage in meaningful conversations with peers and experts, and gain practical tools for managing their digital lives.

This is a unique chance for youth to:

• Hear from mental health experts and social media leaders
• Learn practical tips for managing social media use
• Build confidence to have open discussions with peers, parents, and community members
• Get trained on how to advocate for positive changes in digital spaces

Event Details:

Dates: Saturday, March 1 & Saturday, March 8, 2025

Time: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM CST (both days)

Audience: Youth ages 14–24 from diverse backgrounds

The 2025-2026 FAFSA is now open. If your student is headed to college, please make sure you are preparing to fill this out. This resource from Sallie Mae will help answer your questions. To start, both parent/guardian and student will need to create a FSA ID. Instructions and information can be found here.

We are excited to announce the launch of our Kindness E-Wall, a virtual platform designed to help us spread positivity and kindness throughout our school community! Whether you want to recognize a friend's effort, share a compliment, or send an uplifting message, this E-Wall is the perfect place to brighten someone's day.

How It Works:

• Submit Your Message: Anyone in our school community can send positive messages. All you need is an email address (no login required)!
• Approval Process: Messages will be reviewed by a staff moderator before being displayed.
• Visibility: The E-Wall will be shared on TVs throughout the school, featured on our website, and included in our newsletters.

We encourage you to share messages of kindness, appreciation, and encouragement to help promote a sense of belonging and positivity here in North Nation!

Sophomores/Seniors: 

College and Military representatives visit LNHS throughout the school year. Students are encouraged to sign up for these opportunities to ask questions and find out more information! These visits are a great way to start the post-secondary thought process and provide a free experience before going to the campus! Sign up on SchooLinks or see Ms. Stukes in the Counseling Center.
