The Counseling Corner

NEW NEWS

STUDENTS/PARENTS: Happy summer! We hope you are enjoying a restful and refreshing break.

This memo is to provide important information regarding the upcoming schedule release for the 2025–2026 school year.

Please note that schedules will be held until Returning Student Registration is completed.

LNHS has developed a comprehensive list of acceptable reasons for schedule correction requests. Please review the document here: 25–26 School Year Schedule Corrections. As our school continues to grow and improve our processes, counselors and administration will use this guide to assist families during in-person registration in August and throughout the early schedule correction period at the start of the school year.

Please be aware that this process may differ from previous years. Schedule changes will be considered only according to the outlined criteria. Student schedules have been created using both primary course requests and alternates, with careful attention to balancing class sizes.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we prepare for another successful school year.

STUDENTS/PARENTS: Class schedules will be held in the fall until Returning Student Registration is completed. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED FOR ALL STUDENTS. All incoming freshmen must provide proof of residency. For upcoming seniors you must have turned in your meningitis vaccine as well to see your schedule. Please see information below:

Returning Student Registration Now Open

As we shared last month, we are excited to be able to once again open the Returning Student Registration window much earlier this year. In fact, the Returning Student Registration portal for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! If your student is currently enrolled in Liberty Public Schools, you need to complete the Returning Student Registration for your student.

Families will need to log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal to complete the registration. You will be able to connect to your Parent Portal through the LPS website, which can also be accessed by clicking here (please note that the app does not provide the direct link). You may also navigate to the PowerSchool Parent Portal at www.LPS53.org>Menu>Resources>PowerSchool When logging onto your PowerSchool Parent Portal account, simply select the Returning Student Registration tab in the left column.

Finally, if you have a kindergarten (transitioning from ECC to KDG), 6th, or 9th grade student, you will be required to verify residency for the 2025-2026 school year. You will be able to upload your residency verification items within the Returning Student Registration (ex: utility bills, lease agreement, etc.). For additional information regarding required documentation click here.

We ask that each students registration be completed by August 1, 2025. We hope that many of our families take advantage of this earlier registration window opportunity and can complete this prior to your busy summer schedules that are likely to occur. Class schedules will be held in the fall until Returning Student Registration is completed.

If you have any additional questions regarding this process, don't hesitate reaching out to either your child's home school or LPS Student Services

STUDENTS: If you have A+ on your schedule, you will meet in Room 711 on the first day of school for instructions.

During this event, they will get to see how our tight-knit community of first-generation college students and those from limited financial resources shine on campus and the support they have to thrive academically and socially.
