Featured Speakers
Session 5-1: Extending the CDO Tenure: Lessons from Leading CDOs on Delivering Business Value for Long-Term Success
Moderator: Randy Bean, NewVantage Partners
Panelists: Ajai Sehgal, Mayo Clinic; Paul Ballew, National Football League (NFL); Grace Lee, Scotia Bank; Craig Brabec, McDonalds; DeWayne Griffin, State Farm

According to NewVantage Partners annual CDO executive survey, 65% of leading Fortune 1000 firms have now appointed a CDO, up from 12% a decade ago. However, according to an August 2021 Harvard Business Review article, the average CDO tenure is just 2.5 years. This session of leading CDOs will consider what factors ensure traction, success, and longevity for corporate CDOs in today’s high-demand business environment.

MITCDOIQ veteran moderator and author Randy Bean will host a panel of leading Fortune 1000 CDOs for this compelling and must-see discussion.
Session 6-2: Delivering on the Chief Data Officer’s Imperative
Moderator: Peggy Tsai, BigID
Panelists: Dan Power, State Street; Sonali Bhagwat, Twitter; Savitha Anantharaman, Bank of America

Today’s Chief Data Officers are faced with many challenges namely competing and shifting priorities from business stakeholders and external regulations. Given limited resources, there is a need to deliver on trusted and quality data to meet the needs of privacy and cybersecurity mandates. On top of that, Chief Data Officers manage analytics and engineering teams to support the product management of data in the organization.

Join this session led by a panel of industry experts in banking and technology on industry case studies that have stemmed from different priorities – from privacy operationalization, to regulatory compliance or digital transformation journeys. The challenges are often the same – getting started with competing business priorities, identifying limited resources, shifting organizational factors. Tackling these challenges involve reimaging the data management priorities to help deliver on the Chief Data Officers imperative.
Upgrade Your Professional Credential with a
Graduate Degree in Information Quality
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock offers an online Graduate Certificate. Dr. John Talburt has been working with the Graduate School to qualify the CDO-1 short program as part of the University's Prior-Learning-Credit Program. Under the proposed program, students could count the completion of the CDO-1 together with other professional experiences as a graduate course credit toward the Graduate Certificate. Students earning the PLC credit for CDO-1 would only need three online courses to earn the Graduate Certificate. Click here for details.
