❄️ Happy 116th Birthday, Scouting America February 8th, 1910
While walking the foggy streets of London in 1909, American businessman William Boyce became lost. A young boy offered to help him find his way. Boyce wanted to compensate him, but the boy declined, explaining that he was a Scout, and it was his duty to help and never take money for doing a good turn. Inspired, William Boyce met with British founder Robert Baden-Powell, knowing youth back home in America could benefit from a program like Scouting America.

Scouts Trash the Trash Day is a global project that brings Scouts together to clean up their communities on the first Saturday in May. Each Scout is challenged to collect at least 2.2 pounds of trash and bring a friend or family member to double the impact. It’s an essential part of ensuring youth safety in the outdoors. This 30-minute training must be completed every two years.
