The Board of Directors of The Crossing has appointed Shannon McMahon to be the organization's Managing Director. In this newly-created role, Shannon will help lead The Crossing into its 20th season and beyond, sharing responsibility for company oversight and project development with Artistic Director Donald Nally, as well as continuing to provide the company's primary financial management.
Having served as Operations Manager for over four years, Shannon's institutional knowledge of The Crossing is intimate and comprehensive. Her promotion to Managing Director is not only a logical step for the company, but a great forward step for the community that is The Crossing. She will serve as the center of all business, managing a number of part-time staff members who address finances and grantmaking, and taking on an increasingly public-facing role with the three-time Grammy winning, internationally touring, intrepid group named Musical America's 2024 Ensemble of the Year.
Donald Nally, observed, "Shannon is a rather remarkable member of our amazing team. Calm and centered, she is among the most optimistic arts administrators I've met, and yet, she is precise and careful, ensuring that our mission and our good organizational health are aligned and in balance. We went through a challenging time earlier this season, and it was Shannon who held the torch, seeing to it we successfully navigated our way back into good health. We’re back, and with that, a new role that excites us all."
Shannon assumes the role of Managing Director May 1, 2024.
It's a very good day at The Crossing.
