THIS SUNDAY

Sunday, March 15, 2026

Join us this third Sunday in March for the fourth Sunday of Lent as we continue our exploration of the Gospel of John's version of the events leading up to the Last Supper and Passion. This week, Jesus meets a blind man whose sight he restores. We will also read the much-loved 23rd Psalm together. Beth Polen and the choir will sing a beautiful anthem, In the Shadow of the Cross, and Julie Smith and the Sunday School team will continue their spiritual guidance of our children through this season leading to Easter.

Our two readings this Sunday are:

Psalm 23

John 9: 1 - 11

Everyone is always welcome to worship here at Crossroads, and when we take Communion, everyone is always welcome at the Lord's table. So please tell your friends, coworkers or neighbors who may be looking for a church home about us! We worship every week in our sanctuary at 10:00 am.

Palm Sunday

The Sunday of the Passion

Sunday, March 29, 2026

Join us on Sunday, March 29 for this very special Palm Sunday/Passion service where we will follow the story of Jesus from his triumphant arrival into Jerusalem all the way through to the Last Supper and the Passion.

We will take Communion together at the same moment in the Passion that Jesus and his disciples did, and then we will end in solemn silence as Jesus is crucified. This unique experience will take the place of our Maundy Thursday service.

Good Friday

Combined Service at St. Paul's Episcopal Church

Friday, April 3, 2026 - 7:00 pm

We are continuing our annual tradition of having a combined Good Friday service with our friends at St Paul's Episcopal just down the street. Last year we hosted in our sanctuary, so this year, we are back in the beautiful worship space at St Paul's. This is always a moving and meditative service, so please come!

This is From the Archives, where we present something from our extensive collection of archival photos, records and all manner of materials dating back to when the church was First Methodist Episcopal, to First Methodist, to Church of the Savior, to St. Paul's to Crossroads.

This week's archives entry continues to explore the idea of how the church has marked the occasion of Lent in different ways in its past; this time, our much more recent past.

This is a special citation that Church of the Savior received from the Mayor of Canton in 2005. (In 2005, that was Janet Weir Creighton.)

The citation recognizes something that the church was doing back then, a Cross Walk, whereby chuch members and others followed a cross that was being carried from Monument Park through downtown and back to the church, stopping along the way to offer prayers at various churches and schools.

(Although the citation describes this as happening during the "Easter season," it seems much more likely that these annual walks took place during Lent.)
