A Message From the Nurse's Office
|
|
Hello, SSPP Parents.
Please take note of the following state requirements regarding immunizations and dental requirements for the 2022-23 school year. Thank you
|
|
- PA State mandated immunization, physical and dental requirements for the 2022-23 school year:
-
All students are required to be up to date with PA state-mandated immunizations within the first 5 days of school in order to avoid being excluded from school. Only medical exemptions are accepted for missing immunizations or if a student is on a delayed immunization schedule. In these cases, a note from a licensed doctor is required that reflects the medical diagnosis as to why the student is medically exempt or on a delayed schedule for immunizations. Parents' choice to delay immunizations for their child(ren) is not accepted.
-
All kindergarten students and any students enrolling at Saints Peter and Paul for the first time must submit updated physical and dental examination reports to the school nurse within the first 60 days of school in order to avoid being excluded from school. Reports can be dated in/after August 2021.
**Kindergarten through 8th-grade students must receive:
4 DTaP (diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis) with the last dose given after the child’s 4th birthday
4 IPV (polio) with the last dose given after the child’s 4th birthday
3 Hepatitis B
2 Varicella (chickenpox)
2 MMR (measles/mumps/rubella)
-
All 6th-grade students must submit an updated physical examination report to the school nurse within the first 60 days of school in order to avoid being excluded from school. Reports can be dated in/ after August 2021.
-
All 3rd and 7th-grade students must submit an updated dental examination to the school nurse within the first 60 days of school in order to avoid being excluded from school. Reports can be dated in/after August 2021.
-
All 7th-grade students must receive a Tdap and meningitis vaccine within the first 5 days of school in order to avoid being excluded from school.
-
If you have questions about these requirements, please contact Mrs. Hopton at lhopton@wcasd.net or Mrs. Dugan at cdugan@wcasd.net. Please contact Mrs. Foytack at mfoytack@sspeterandpaulrc.org for any questions related to Preschool.
- Absences related to exclusions for non-compliance of PA State school health mandates are considered unlawful.

The Culture Project Presentation

Parents and Grandparents, You Don’t Want to Miss This
The Culture Project Presentation
Thursday, March 31 at 7:00 PM in the Church Hall
Studies show that when it comes to the topics of human sexuality and dignity, no one has more of an influence on their teenager than his or her parents. This talk is designed to facilitate a conversation of affirmation and encouragement. The goal is to come alongside parents in their role as the primary educator of their family and communicate The Culture Project’s approach in speaking to young people about human sexuality and dignity. I will also provide an overview of our three presentations; sexual integrity, human dignity, and social media. I will be informing parents of exactly what students would hear from missionaries in the classroom so as to feel empowered to continue the conversation at home. I, ultimately, want to offer parents the hope that young people desire authentic love, and that they can make a difference through witness and conversation. Along the way, I will also share what led me to The Culture Project and why I’ve decided to serve for the last 4 years!
- Erick Marquez, a missionary from The Culture Project, will be offering a special presentation to concerned parents and grandparents of teenagers

We are looking to bring back Vacation Bible School this summer, but we need your help! We are looking for a minimum of 8 teen helpers to run the program and a minimum of 4 adults to oversee the teen leaders. This is a great opportunity for our graduating 8th-graders to get in some required service hours that they will need for high school. Please reach out to Michele D'Alessandro if you and/or your child are interested in helping. Thank you!
