Certification News
Recertification is changing for CFC®, CFPC™, CC®, and CPC® levels.

Beginning January 1, 2019, CFC, CFPC certificants will be on an annual renewal cycle. Additionally, CC and CPC will change to an annual recertification cycle.

  • CC and CPC certified chefs will have fewer CEHs and lower fees, making the process more manageable. ACF member CC and CPC certified chefs will only need to pay $15 and earn 15 CEHs per year (non-members pay $65). CFC and CFPC must earn 10 CEHs and pay $10 (non-members pay $60).
  • CFC and CFPC certifications will still be time-limited to three years. After three years, we strongly encourage upgrading.

Why annual recertification?
In our rapidly changing industry, it is important to stay current with trends and techniques. To help you retain your Industry Credential, your certification now requires annual recertification. Benefits of annual recertification include:

  • Keeping current with trends
  • Continued focus on professional development
  • More affordable
  • Staying connected with the industry
  • Easier planning for advancing your certification

Please contact our Certification department with any questions.
Effective January 1, 2019, the Recertification after Expiration policy will be updated.

  • Certificants will only be permitted to recertify up to one year past the date of certification expiration.
  • Certificants 1-3 months after expiration can still receive a 90-day extension upon request to complete the recertification with no penalties.
  • To reinstate certifications expired 4-12 months, all refreshers must be up to date, documentation of required number of CEHs must be submitted with recertification application, recertification fee and a late fee of $150. All CEHs must be earned within the recertification cycle, including the 90-day grace period.
  • Any certifications expired more than 12 months must contact the ACF National Office to certify themselves based on current eligibility and testing requirements. Once approved, the appropriate number of years will be added to expired recertification date.
Effective December 1, 2018,  CSCE and CCE candidates will submit their video, video submission form, lesson plan and $50 fee at least six weeks prior to the application submission. The Final Fee has been adjusted to reflect the addition of the Video Review Fee; the total certification cost remains the same.
