Three Chefs Earn CMC Certification
After an exciting eight days and nearly 90 hours of cooking, Gerald Ford, CMC, Joseph Leonardi, CMC, and Shawn Loving, CMC, earned the ACF Certified Master Chef® certification. Congrats, chefs!

Update on Hurricane and Wildfire Relief Efforts
Funds from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) Disaster Relief Fund are available to assist ACF members, schools with ACFEF programmatic accreditation and their students affected by catastrophic events and natural disasters. This form is also in the Members Portal.
Please consider donating to the  charity of your choice   or making a donation to the  ACFEF Disaster Relief Fund   to help affected members. Call the ACF national office to make a credit card donation at (904) 484-0220. You may also want to consider fundraising initiatives to support fellow culinarians in need.
CEC®/CEPC® Update
Effective Jan. 1, 2018, the CEC® and CEPC® certification levels will require a 30-hour course in Cost Control Management. No refresher course will be required.

Current CEC ® certified chefs will not have to complete this 30-hour course at the time of recertification, as this is only a requirement for initial CEC ® certification. For more information, please contact  or call the Certification Hotline at (888) 817-5344.
2018 What's Hot Survey
ACF and National Restaurant Association want to know what ACF chefs think about upcoming food trends and techniques for 2018. Please participate and share your opinions. Complete the survey by Oct. 31 to be entered into a drawing for a $500 American Express gift card.

Apply to Join ACF Culinary Youth Team USA 2020
Applications are being accepted for ACF Culinary Youth Team USA 2020. Each team member cannot be older than 23 years old on the qualifying date of November 1, 2020. For more information on the selection process, click the button below. Applications must be received by December 1, 2017
Social Media Contest!
ACF wants to see how you use winter squash in your kitchen. To enter the October Ingredient of the Month social media contest, click the button below or post a picture on Instagram and tag @acf_chefs with the hashtag #IOTM and you'll be entered into a drawing to win cool prizes. Contest ends Tuesday, Oct. 31.

Register and compete in a "Jeopardy"-style competition with questions that cover nutrition, baking, culinary math, safety and sanitation, and the arts of classical and modern cooking. To compete for the national title, teams must enter and win in their respective regional competitions. Deadline to register is Nov. 30.
Grants Still Available for Childhood Nutrition Programs
A limited number of grants are still available for members to host a childhood nutrition program in their community during the month of October. Members can also earn continuing education hours by volunteering.

Today is Childhood Nutrition Day and #ACFChefs across the nation are working with their local communities to foster and promote awareness of proper nutrition. When you participate, use the hashtag #ChildhoodNutritionDay on social media to share your photos!

On Oct. 12, ACF Guam Chapter completed the Chef and Child project at M.U. Lujan Elementary School with 75 students participating.

On Oct. 13, WC Griggs Elementary School in Mobile, Alabama, hosted a Childhood Nutrition Day event at with 720 students attending.
