2025 Business of the Year - Cumberland Foodstop

Whenever food or expertise was ever needed during the Cumberland Fair week at the Lions Den food booth, Mark Fortin, owner of the Cumberland Food Stop and staff always stepped up to helped in the clutch. In addition, they help out the community with fundraisers by giving proceeds of pizza sales as donations. Plus they support many school organizations like Greely sports and Drama Boosters, with reduced pricing. For all these reasons, we are grateful and pleased to name the Cumberland Food Stop as the 2025 Business of the Year!

2025 Citizens of the Year - Linda and Bill Shane

Linda and Bill Shane are being honored for their steadfast support and management of the Community Food Pantry, located in Cumberland since it was founded many years ago. Linda has always emphasized it will always ‘take a village’ to keep the pantry viable. To date it has been a huge success and has served many appreciative families in our community.

Linda and Bill Shane lived in Cumberland for nearly 32 years. They raised two sons Jordan and Zachary and now boast of 5 granddaughters all under the age of 8. With Bill’s recent retirement, they have moved to South Carolina to be near their children and grandchildren. The Cumberland/North Yarmouth Lions wants to honor the Shane’s commitment to the Food Pantry and our community over the years! Thank you!

Intersection UPDATE

The MaineDOT is DELAYING the intersection change at Tuttle Road and Middle Road until this coming SPRING.

We appreciate your patience as we wait for better conditions. Winter conditions make it difficult to paint lines or keep signage securely in place. This could lead to more safety issues as drivers try to stop quickly in ice and snow.

Please, continue to approach the intersection with caution this winter. Stop signs will remain only on Middle Road. We will notify the community when the 4-Way stop is implemented this spring. Thank you for driving safely!

Town Forest Story Walk

Don't forget there is a book up in the Town Forest Story Walk! Bundle up and enjoy - "The Lights that Dance in the Night" by Yuval Zommer!

The Town Forest Story Walk is located behind Town Hall at 290 Tuttle Road. Happy walking and reading!

The Maine Department of Transportation will be working on the replacement of the Tuttle Road bridge over I-295 and US Route 1 starting this week. The work is scheduled to be completed by September 2027.

Traffic will see minimal impact until next summer when the new approach work will begin and alternating one way traffic controlled by flaggers will commence. Traffic is expected to be moved onto the new bridge late next year with the demolition of the old bridge and cleanup extending into 2027.
