Rockford, IL

Illinois Department Of Transportation awarded Curran Contracting its largest contract to date valued at almost $100M. This historical moment would not be possible without Helm Civil's partnership and joint venture.

Boots hit the ground on July 24th marking the beginning of this two-mile infrastructure improvement project in Rockford, Illinois with a target completion date of 11-27-24.

IDOT Contract #226 Scope Highlights:

• Reconstruction of the I-39/US 20 Interchange

• Removal & Installation of five bridge structures

• Roadway reconstruction of both Linden & Mulford Rd

Norfolk Southern

Chicago,IL

Curran is making progress on the installation of a new craneway for Norfolk Southern in Chicago, Illinois. The excavation and drainage improvements were completed in September. Currently, stone is being placed for the new concrete craneway pad. Curran is on schedule and is expected to be completed with these improvements by November 2023.

Piper Glen Subdivision

Oswego, IL

Curran Contracting broke ground last week in the Fox River Valley for M/I Homes for one of their newest communities located off of Route 34 in Oswego, Illinois. Once completed, this 117 acre site will welcome 300 new, single family homes, parks and walking trails.

Curran has begun the mass earthwork for this new, residential development. Once completed we will have moved 450K CY of dirt. Every job site is different and has its own set of challenges. The current 117 acre site is bisected by a 20" regional drain that needs to be diverted through the work area during our earthwork operations. This in combination with poor subsurface soils and ground water management is keeping our team's problem solving skills sharp. Performing on an accelerated schedule, Curran's scope of work will be completed June 2024.

Waste Management Laraway RDF

Joliet, IL

Waste Management has given Curran the opportunity to partner up again, this time at their Laraway RDF landfill in Joliet, Illinois. Curran Contracting was awarded the contract to construct cell 9C and 10B.This project includes excavation of the new cells, cell liner placement, leachate stone placement, and perimeter berm construction as part of the new cell construction. The overall excavation quantity includes 135K CY of dirt. The final phase of the work will be completed in November 2023.

Curran Celebrates Zero Lost Time

This fall, Curran held an early morning safety breakfast at the DeKalb Park District to acknowledge everyone's commitment to putting safety first and to celebrate Zero Lost Time in over 3 years and 1.2 million man hours. At Curran Contracting, we prioritize the safety of our employees and clients above all other considerations. Out Of the Darkness™ Community Walk Success

On October 7^th, Curran partnered with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to host a community, Out of the Darkness™ walk in DeKalb, IL. The walk, which was held at Hopkins Park, helped to raise both awareness and funds for suicide prevention. With the goal of raising $20k for the Illinois chapter of the AFSP, the event far exceeded expectations, raising a total of $27,495.

While the financial goals of the event were met, most of the money came from individual donations of the over 130 event participants, many of whom had lost someone to suicide. The community came together, resonating with one mission: suicide is preventable, and no one is alone. The AFSP, which has been organizing walks since 2004, has impacted over 400 communities to create a culture that destigmatizes, recognizes, and supports the importance of mental health. To everyone that donated their time and resources to impact this day, thank you.
