Town Council Meeting on May 2
The Town will hold a Council meeting on May 2, 2022, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. In our efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 and to protect all individuals, in person public attendance will not be permitted at this time.

Council members are adopting a new practice for attending meetings using a hybrid approach whereby some members will attend in person and others will attend virtually on a rotational basis.

If you would like to submit feedback, please email your comments to [email protected]. Comments submitted will be circulated to Council Members in advance of the meeting and will be part of the public record.
Mayor's Message
“It’s been a long two years since we first heard of the name Covid-19 and pandemic in the same sentence. No one ever signed up for governing during a pandemic that we really didn’t know much about. There was no play book.”

Subscribe to the Mayor’s Messages for monthly updates and messages right to your inbox.

Retrofit Halton Hills Pilot Program
Limited spaces are remaining in the Retrofit Halton Hills Pilot Program. Residents are welcome to apply for an interest-free loan to fund home retrofit projects. Save money on energy costs and improve the comfort and safety of your home while reducing its impact on the environment.
The Georgetown GO Station Area/Mill Street Corridor Secondary Plan Review is Underway
The Georgetown GO Station Area/Mill Street Corridor is due for a secondary plan review. Key components of the review include identifying and planning strategic locations for redevelopment and intensification, and the maintenance and enhancement of existing neighbourhoods.

The two-year project will be carried out over four phases and will include many opportunities for public engagement.
Stewarttown Secondary Plan
Summary Report Survey
As part of the Stewarttown Secondary Plan process, the Town continues to seek public input. This survey includes all questions asked at the April 4th virtual Public Open House and gives further opportunity to provide comment.

The questions are based on the information provided in the Stewarttown Summary Report, available on the Let’s Talk Halton Hills project page

The survey will be closed on May 27, 2022.
Mill Street Parkette Construction
The Town is undertaking the consultation, design and construction of a new parkette to strengthen the community's access to quality parkland as well as promote active living in healthy, safe, inclusive, and sustainable environments.

Located at the corner of Mill Street and McNabb Street, just northeast of downtown Georgetown the 0.63 hectare site is divided into two areas by Silver Creek. The proposed area for the parkette is on the east side of the creek and is currently covered in gravel and being used as an informal parking lot. We're planning to transform the space at 14 Mill Street into a high quality parkette.

The Town invites you to take the preliminary survey to provide feedback and direction on the elements and activities that you would like to have included as part of the development of the new parkette in your neigbourhood.

The survey will be closed on May 2, 2022.
Apply for the Climate Change Investment Fund
Apply for the Town's Climate Change Investment Fund (CCIF). Community funding is available for actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the Town's climate change goals to become a net-zero community by 2030.

Applications are due by May 3, 2022.
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in the Community
Did you know there are 26 public electric vehicle chargers at nine locations throughout Halton Hills and their usage is increasing? Data shows that over the past five months the newest chargers have been used 45 times! This increase in usage saved 708 kgs of greenhouse gases from entering into the atmosphere.
Earth Week 2022 Celebrations

Halton Hills Annual Used Bike Swap
Join the Halton Hills Bike-it Committee on April 30, 2022 for their annual Bike Swap, an event that gives residents the opportunity to recycle their used (in working condition) bikes in an environmentally friendly way by putting them in the hands of those who can use them.

Event runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre located at 11620 Trafalgar Rd, Georgetown. Donate your used bikes and trikes or get a used bike for a great deal with all proceeds going to local food banks.
