Town Council Meeting on February 10

The Town will hold a Council meeting on February 10, 2025, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. Town Council meetings are being conducted using a hybrid model where members of Council can participate in person at Town Hall or electronically via Zoom.


At this time, members of the public are encouraged to view the meeting by watching the live stream through the Town’s Municipal Calendar web page.


Should you wish to delegate to a Council meeting, please complete the online delegation form no later than one business day before the meeting is to be held.


If you would like to submit feedback, please email your comments to clerks@haltonhills.ca Comments submitted will be circulated to Council Members in advance of the meeting and will be part of the public record.

Construction of a Cricket Pitch at Trafalgar Sports Park


Cricket is gaining significant popularity in Canada, with increasing participation and media coverage. Halton Hills is seeing rising interest in the sport, evidenced by the establishment of the Halton Hills Cricket Club (HHCC) and the growth of local involvement. The proposal includes building a 22-yard synthetic turf cricket pitch at Trafalgar Sports Park, in between the multipurpose fields 8 and 9, and the fields form the rest of the cricket ground.

Halton Hills Sports Museum Agreement


The Halton Hills Sports Museum (HHSM) is transitioning from a physical museum to a more sustainable, technology-driven digital model to preserve and share the community's sports heritage. The HHSM Board and Town staff have collaboratively developed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines a phased approach for the transition to the new model - including planning, digitalization, and community engagement.

Province-Wide School Crossing Guard Appreciation Drawing Contest


Help recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of School Crossing Guards from February 3rd to March 31st, 2025! This contest aims to engage children aged 4 to 14 years in expressing their gratitude and appreciation for School Crossing Guards through art. The winning drawings will be featured on thank-you cards distributed during School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week.

Heritage Acton Granted CIP Funding to Support Acton Town Hall Centre Improvements


On January 27, the Town of Halton Hills proudly awarded a $30,000 Building and Property Renovation Grant, part of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP), to Heritage Acton for improvements to the Acton Town Hall Centre.

Halton Hills Council Rejects Efforts to Undermine Canadian Sovereignty


“We stand united and categorically reject any efforts to undermine the sovereignty of Canada,” was the message brought by Councillor D’Arcy Keene. The resolution responded to comments regarding Canada becoming the 51st state by President Trump prior to his inauguration.

Mayor Ann Lawlor shares a laugh with Halton Hills staff as they don comic red noses for a ‘Staff Red Nose Day’. The initiative is a play on the Red Nose Campaign that sells red noses in support of the Townsend Smith Foundation.

Applications for the Bell Box Mural Mentorship Program


During three in-person sessions, artist participants will learn how to take their artwork off the canvas and into the public art landscape. Participants who complete this program will have the opportunity to submit proposals to paint one of two utility boxes for the Halton Hills Bell Box Mural Project. The program will be led by artist mentor Jieun Kim, a Korean-born street artist based in Toronto. The deadline to apply is March 3.

Family Day - Art Drop-in


Drop into the Helson Gallery on Family Day, February 17 anytime from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to create your own whimsical bird, focusing on texture and colour. This project is in support of the upcoming contest to name the official bird of Halton Hills. All materials provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Black History Month Programs and Events


Participate in a variety of FREE programs and events this month in recognition of Black History Month. Join us on Friday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. for an NFB OnScreen at the JET screening of 'Sounds & Pressure: Reggae in a Foreign Land'. View artwork by artist Paul Dias on display at the Cultural Centre, listen to an artist talk on February 11 at the JET or attend a family-friendly music, dance, and storytelling program at the Halton Hills Public Library.
