Congratulations to all who participated in the Museum's first Frost Biter's Bash, a hugely successful party held at the Museum on March 9th in support of the Museum and the Educational Program. The committee led by Joanna Davis and Lindsay Armstrong Mitchell transformed the Museum into a wonderful party venue with food stations, dancing, and live and silent auctions. Our thanks go to the many businesses and individuals who supported the event with their donations, attendance, and purchases.

Nathanael Greene Herreshoff and the America's Cup: Part Eight - Looking Ahead to an Interesting Cup Year
"March 1903- the excitement has been building for some time over the coming launching of the new defender. Everyone wants to get a look at the boat. Descriptions have appeared in the press, but the source and the accuracy are always in question. In keeping with the Herreshoff Company policy no photographers or reporters have been allowed into the North Building Shop to view the defender building on the marine railway car. Accounts appearing in the papers quote "Herreshoff employees", but never for attribution as the company's published rules threaten dismissal if a worker is found to have disclosed any information concerning work on the company projects."

Registration For Sailing School Now Open
"Our son attended the Herreshoff Seamanship Program this past summer(for the entire summer) and had an amazing time. Richard Feeny and his staff made our son's experience safe and fun - he finished the summer with an entirly new skill set (sailing, knots, etc) and increased confidence. As parents, there is not much more we could ask for."

Volunteer at the Herreshoff Marine Museum
For 42 years the Herreshoff Marine Museum has been a fixture on the Bristol shoreline, assembling an unequaled collection of antique classic wooden boats and artifacts documenting an important piece of Bristol and Rhode Island maritime history. In the past few years the museum has experienced a tremendous resurgence and excitement about its programs. However, no museum (or any other nonprofit, for that matter) can prosper without a strong corps of volunteers to perform critical roles that it does not have funding to pay for. The Herreshoff Marine Museum has enjoyed enthusiastic volunteer support at times in our history. We would like to rekindle that interest. Read the rest of this letter written by our COO Larry Lavers and published in the East Bay newspapers
