Town Council Meeting on September 15

The Town will hold a Council meeting on September 15, 2025, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. Town Council meetings are being conducted using a hybrid model where members of Council can participate in person at Town Hall or electronically via Zoom.


At this time, members of the public are encouraged to view the meeting by watching the live stream through the Town’s Municipal Calendar web page.


Should you wish to delegate to a Council meeting, please complete the online delegation form no later than one business day before the meeting is to be held.


If you would like to submit feedback, please email your comments to clerks@haltonhills.ca Comments submitted will be circulated to Council Members in advance of the meeting and will be part of the public record.

Halton Hills ASE Program Supports Road Safety


The Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) Program is designed to enhance road safety and improve the community’s quality of life. Money from fines is used to support and invest in local road safety measures and fund the ASE program. Visit our ASE webpage for answers to all your questions and more.

Community Improvement Plan Grant Supports Façade Improvement in Downtown Georgetown


On Thursday, August 28, Mayor Ann Lawlor and Councillors Norris, Garneau, and Fogal, joined the Town’s Economic Development Division, to present a cheque for $7,308.08 to FOLIAGE, a locally-owned houseplant boutique, and the 126 Mill Street building owners. The funding was provided through the Town’s Community Improvement Plan which supports commercial property revitalization and improvements through grants and loans.

Halton Hills Fire Department Announces New Community Connect Program


Improving safety and adopting new technologies are the hallmarks of the new Community Connect Program recently launched by the Halton Hills Fire Department.


Community Connect is a secure, easy-to-use platform that allows residents and business owners to share critical information about their household, helping emergency service personnel respond more efficiently and effectively, resulting in better incident outcomes.

Halton Hills' Discovery Pass Returns for Fall with New Offers and Prizes


The Town of Halton Hills is thrilled to announce the return of Discovery Passes for the fall season. The Autumn Discovery Pass running from September 15 to November 1 is a free mobile program for residents and visitors to support local businesses and experience fall in Halton Hills.

New Exhibition at the Helson Gallery: The Colours of HER-story


The Helson Gallery is thrilled to present The Colours of HER-story, an exhibition that explores the vibrant and transformative third chapter in women’s lives. Running from September 4 to October 19, this exhibition features the work of artists Stephanie Schirm and Sian Gordon, whose bold use of colour and expressive style vividly reflect their personal experiences.


Join us for the reception on Thursday, September 25, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Helson Gallery to meet the artists and enjoy live music.

Smart Commute Month is Back

The Smart Commute campaign encourages people to explore sustainable ways to get around. By sharing your commuting habits through the survey, you’ll help improve transportation options in your community and be entered to win prizes! 

Community Tree Planting Event


Help plant 200 trees at the Georgetown Fire Hall located at 53 Maple Avenue, on Saturday October 4, 2025 at a community tree planting event.



The Town and Trees for Halton Hills have partnered to plant 1900 trees across Halton Hills as part of our Revitalizing the Urban Canopy project, with funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Growing Canada's Community Canopies Grant. This community tree planting event will help move us closer to our goal.

Community Social Events


Building on the success of our first two Community Socials this spring (in Ward 3 & 4), the Hey Neighbour crew is back with more fun this fall!

Join them and connect with Town staff, Halton Hills neighbours and elected officials at our upcoming fall Community Social events.

 

Meet us in the park and connect with your neighbours over a morning coffee! Engage with local first responders and check out EMS vehicles with our Touch-a-Truck program, play large lawn games with your family and friends (Jenga, Connect Four, Bean Bag Toss, and more!) Residents can check out the Town Services Showcase and interact with staff to learn about Town processes, policies, and upcoming initiatives – in a fun, approachable and friendly environment.

Sports Fields Closing Soon for the Season


All grass sports fields and diamonds are closed between Sept. 22 and late April 2026 for seasonal maintenance. This allows the fields to rest, especially during the wettest time of the year when the most damage can occur. During this time, parks staff complete maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Please respect the sport field and diamond closures. Parks, trails and outdoor spaces remain open for use.
