A Grant from the Canadian Wildlife Federation

The Town was awarded a $6,900 grant from the Canadian Wildlife Federation to establish two right-of-way pollinator meadows on Town property as a pilot project. Creating pollinator habitat in Halton Hills will benefit the community by increasing wildlife habitat and biodiversity, reducing invasive species, enhancing neighbourhood aesthetics, and providing ecological services (e.g. flood mitigation).

Acton Properties to be Recommended for Designation under the Ontario Heritage Act

Four properties at the corner of Bower Street and Willow Street North are included in those properties being recommended for designation.

These evaluations are in response to changes to the Ontario Heritage Act through Bill 23, the More Homes, Built Faster Act, 2022, with additional amendments made through Bill 200, the Homeowner Protection Act. If there are no objections, a designation by-law for the stated properties in Acton will be brought forward to Council for adoption.
