Dear Friend,
I hope 2019 is off to a good start for you and your family. We've definitely had a chilly beginning to the year, but unfortunately the bad guys are still causing mischief despite the cooler temperatures.
Our main message continues to be this, "If you see something, say something." You could help prevent a crime from happening by simply helping us get to a situation that looks suspicious.
Please CALL US when you need us - it's the best way for us to get information from you about crime, and to dispatch law enforcement. We can always be reached at 863-298-6200 (and of course 9-1-1 in an emergency).
Remember, you can also help us by keeping your doors to your vehicles and your home locked and don't leave valuables in plain sight in vehicles. Criminals strike when you least expect it.
If you need us, call us. We will always answer the call.
Sincerely,
Grady Judd, Sheriff

New PCSO Volunteers
|
Please join Sheriff Judd in welcoming the first
Volunteer Sheriff's Service Officer (
VSSO)
class of 2019!
The new members of
the VSSO Program have the unique opportunity to serve their community as a volunteer by contributing their time to assist full-time sworn deputies and detectives with important law enforcement functions.
This includes writing routine reports on past-occurred crimes, which allows deputies and detectives to concentrate on more complex violent crimes and calls for service.
VSSO's are trained in criminal and civil law, property evidence handling, fingerprinting and can perform crime scene investigations, traffic crash investigations, conduct patrols and issue civil traffic citations.
They are also Notaries and NCIC/FCIC certified. VSSO's are not sworn, cannot make an arrest and do not carry a weapon.
PCSO is actively recruiting new members for our next VSSO Academy which is tentatively scheduled for July 2019.
For more information, contact 863-297-1176.
