Dear Friend,
On behalf of the men and women of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, we wish you a very happy, productive, and safe New Year. In 2019, please resolve to improve your personal safety and security by locking your residence, and your car doors, and be vigilant. If you see something, say something.
Also, please resolve to do the one thing that will mean the most to your personal safety: drive safely and defensively-don't text and drive.
Call us if you need us!

Move Over---It's the law, Florida
|
Florida law requires drivers to move over for emergency and public service vehicles to protect those who protect and serve. If you are travelling on a roadway with two or more lanes, move over one lane for safety. If you can't move over, or you're on a two-lane road, slow down 20 MPH below the posted speed. If the posted speed is 20 MPH or less, slow down to 5 MPH.
