June 2019
Dear Friend,
Summer is here and it is the time for hot weather and vacations! For those of you who work outside, please stay hydrated and make sure you use high quality sun screen to protect yourself. These temperatures are brutal and we want everyone to stay healthy and happy!
For those of you who are taking vacations this summer, enjoy yourselves, have fun & stay safe. Let's also remember that many people will be vacationing in our area - let's do everything we can to make them feel welcome and enjoy themselves - let's hope they do so safely and responsibly.
Summer is a critical time for child and water safety. Watch out for kids around the water and on or near our roads. We all know kids can act impulsively and they don't always pay attention when they're walking, running, and riding bikes around our roadways - we need to be on the lookout for them.

Grady Judd, Sheriff
Volunteers work for free, saved you money

Sheriff Grady Judd holds a "check" for nearly $3.4 million, along with County Commissioners Martha Santiago and Rick Wilson. That check was presented by our 4,000+ PCSO volunteers, and represents the total value of their donated labor in 2018. Our volunteers donated over 145,000 hours in 2018-they patrolled neighborhoods and recreational trails, volunteered in our offices, worked at our animal shelter, helped inmates in the county jails, and worked as chaplains helping our members and the public.

We are a safer, better, and more livable community because of our volunteers.
