Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners Selects New County Administrator

Congratulations to the incoming Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo. I look forward to working with him as he ushers the county into a new era of continued growth and prosperity.

Abruzzo has promised to cultivate a, “culture of inclusiveness,” and handle his new duties with the, “utmost transparency and respect,” – key points that I value.

Incoming Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo is no stranger to Palm Beach County. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and in the Florida Senate representing parts of Palm Beach County. Abruzzo also has an outstanding service record with the United States Coast Guard Reserves as a Port Security Specialist from 2005 to 2013.

I’d also like to thank all the finalists for their participation in the extensive search and interview process: Isami Ayala-Collazo, Assistant County Administrator; Joe Abruzzo, County Clerk and Comptroller; Keith Clinkscales, Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management for Palm Beach County; and Patrick Rutter, Deputy County Administrator.

This process was filled with multiple rounds of interviews and a public forum that ultimately ended with the Board of County Commissioner’s vote yesterday. It was a difficult decision, but I was honored to have had such highly-qualified candidates to choose from that are dedicated to the continued growth and well-being of Palm Beach County.

I look forward to rolling up my sleeves alongside incoming Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo to spark and enhance economic development Palm Beach County – especially District 3. Our district is home to a diverse and dynamic community, and working collaboratively with Abruzzo will ensure we attract quality jobs, invest in infrastructure, support small businesses, and expand access to essential services. From revitalizing underserved areas, to fostering innovation and sustainability, I believe we have a tremendous opportunity to create a lasting, positive impact. Together, we will champion policies and initiatives that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people of District 3, ensuring that progress reaches every corner of our community.
