The Days Are Surely Coming

by Fr. Casey

This weekend we’ll hear one of my favorite passages in the Bible, Jeremiah 31:31-34, for it contains some of the most evocative and hopeful words in all of Scripture: “This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord:

"I will put my law within them,

and I will write it on their hearts;

and I will be their God,

and they shall be my people.

No longer shall they teach one another,

or say to each other, ‘Know the Lord,’

for they shall all know me,

from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord;

for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.”

There are plenty of passages in Scripture that convey God’s power, which may be why this passage featuring God’s tenderness feels so touching. God longs not only for us to believe in him intellectually, or to talk abouthim. What God yearns for most of all is for us to experience divine mercy so fully that we finally know God in the deepest places of our souls.

The Passion Experience

for Families with Small Children

Kids and their families are invited to experience an amazing and thought provoking Easter journey together on Wednesday, March 27 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. On this family mini retreat, you will experience the excitement surrounding Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem, the significance of the Last Supper, the darkness at Gethsemane, the confusion of Good Friday, the silence of Holy Saturday and the Joy of Easter. Families will walk together from station to station, experiencing this journey that provides opportunities for families to discuss their faith. We ask families attending to bring a picnic blanket that will be used at each station.

We will share a meal with Jesus and his disciples during the last supper. There is no cost for this event, but donations may be given to help offset the cost of the meal- $5 suggested donation.

Help Us Break The Fast

Every year, following the Great Vigil of Easter, the parish celebrates with what is fondly known as the Break the Fast party, a parish-wide potluck brimming with food and conviviality.

Beginning this Sunday and running through Maundy Thursday, there will be a signup table in the Gathering space. All food and drinks are provided through parishioner contributions. You can also sign up online via the button below.

We welcome gifts to help pay for paper goods, cutlery, additional food, flowers and some of the decorations. If you cannot attend, or if bringing deviled eggs is just not your thing, you can still participate through a contribution - no amount is too small. On the Dedication Form select Break The Fast.

Phishing Emails From Church Staff

No. Father Casey does not need a moment of your time to contact him about some secret project. He does not need you to send money or gift cards to help out. You may have seen emails such as this from Father Casey but not his usual transfiguration.net email address. These are bogus scam attempts! Don't fall for them. Valid emails from Clergy and Staff will come from a transfiguration.net email address, through Realm, or one of our official channels such as E-news.

Front Desk Receptionist

We are looking for volunteers to work the reception desk. Hours are Monday through Friday, 1:00pm - 4:00pm. There may be occasional times that we need someone to work 9:00am- 1:00pm. Responsibilities include answering the phone, providing information, and routing calls to the appropriate staff members. The receptionist also greets individuals who are arriving on campus to meet with a staff member or who are seeking assistance.

If you are interested, please contact Fred Ellis at (972) 233-1898 or click here to email him.
