HIPHOP Partners with Archangel Raphael's Mission to Provide Handwashing Stations
On Mother’s Day, faculty, staff and students who volunteer through the Homeless and Indigent Population Health Outreach Program (HIPHOP) joined Archangel Raphael’s Mission, Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Ethnos New Brunswick, the United Methodist Church at New Brunswick and American Reentry Initiative to launch the state's first mobile handwashing station. Located in front of the United Methodist Church on George Street the location provides hygiene access through the mobile hand-washing stations, care packages, health education, free masks and more. The coalition was brought together in response to the public health implications of city-wide closures.

Susan Giordano, HIPHOP program director; Meagan Hawes, HIPHOP-Promise Clinic student leader; and Karen Wei-Ru Lin, MD, MS, professor of family medicine and community health, staffed the kick-off of the program.
