News Bulletin - December 2020
With 2020 drawing to a close, we reflect on what this year has meant for all of the province’s labour market stakeholders – employers, employees and job seekers including underrepresented groups, education and training providers, career and employment service providers, government, and research collaborators. The global pandemic shone a light not only on the labour market challenges facing organizations and individuals. It also shone a light on ideas and opportunities to address those challenges as well as our individual and collective capacity to innovate for positive impact now and into the future.

The NLWIC team would like to wish our colleagues and our partners and collaborators in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond a safe and joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

The NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC), administered by the College of the North Atlantic (CNA), has a provincial mandate to provide a coordinated, central point of access to engage all labour market stakeholders about challenges, opportunities in related to the labour market in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as best practices in workforce development.

The Centre’s goal is to promote and support the research, testing and sharing of ideas and models of innovation in workforce development that will positively impact employability, employment, and entrepreneurship within the province’s labour market and particularly under-represented groups. Funding for NLWIC is provided by the Department of Immigration, Skills and Labour (ISL) under the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement.
