Mid-America MHTTC Newsletter
DECEMBER 2021
Greetings,

2021 is coming to a close. Much like 2020, this year brought a slate of mental health challenges — some new, some familiar. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to take a moment and express gratitude for the colleagues, friends, and family who have helped us through tough times, the knowledge we've gained in our personal and professional lives, and the resilience we've exhibited simply by facing these challenges, day by day.

This is a slower time of year for the Mid-America MHTTC, and we hope this translates to some rest and relaxation time for you, too. But if you're on the lookout for training opportunities, you've come to the right place:

  • Dec. 16: Internet Access, Transportation and Social Support (Context Clues: Using Social Determinants of Health [SDOH] to Enhance Treatment)
  • Dec. 17: Leveraging Measurement-based Care for Better Patient Care and Practice Improvement (UnitedHealthcare Behavioral Health Education Series)
  • Jan. 27-28: ARC for Health Professionals: A Training of Trainers Symposium

Read on for more information about these free trainings and others. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Happy Holidays,

The Team at the Mid-America MHTTC

The last webinar in our UnitedHealthcare Behavioral Health Education Series, Leveraging Measurement-based Care for Better Patient Care and Practice Improvement, airs 12-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17. Continuing education credits are available.

This presentation will provide an introduction to measurement-based care as a valuable tool for patient engagement and clinical decision support. Examples will span a variety of settings and populations including youth mental health and integrated care. MBC, also known as routine outcome monitoring, is a systematic and ongoing assessment-as-intervention practice. Several systematic reviews and meta-analyses support MBC as an evidence-based practice for treatment effectiveness (improved outcomes) and efficiency (fewer dropouts, less time to treatment response). FAREWELL FROM THE NEWSLETTER EDITOR
Hi readers — Lauren Robinson here, communications lead for the Mid-America MHTTC. It is with great sadness that I share that I will be leaving our Center at the end of this week. It has been a pleasure sharing my team's work with all of you, fielding questions about our training and technical assistance offerings, and, in some small way, helping connect health care professionals and educators across our region with the training and resources they seek to be the best caregivers they can be. Best of luck to all of you in all of your endeavors!
You have reached the conclusion of this issue. Thank you for reading!
