December Senior Socials at the Concord Community Center December 4 :  Holiday Bingo begins at 1pm! Have a great time making new friends! Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration at the Gazebo at Town Hall Friday, December 6 6:30-7pm: Hang your personal star ornament on the Concord tree* 7pm: Tree Lighting Celebration begins! Hot Cocoa & Holiday Cookies Christmas Carols Santa and Mrs. Claus! *Make a star ornament at the workshop on December 2nd from Noon to 8pm at the Community Center, or bring one from home. If you want your ornament returned, tape your name to it and pick it up at the Community Center after January 6th. The Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration is sponsored by Mountain Creek Tree Farm , 7185 Williams Road in Concord Township.

December Community Events

Ornament Workshop & Hang Out At the Concord Community Center Monday, December 2 from noon to 8pm. Drop off the kids and go holiday shopping!  Kids can “hang out” at the Community Center and create a family star ornament to hang on the Township Holiday Tree on December 6 th before the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration begins. Supplies, games and light refreshments provided. Register for this free workshop by calling the Recreation Department at 440-639-4650.

Light Up Concord House Decorating Contest Enter by December 6 Decorate your home for the holidays and enter the annual Light Up Concord Contest! Categories include traditional reds/greens, all white lights, lights set to music and the popular “Clark Griswold” anything goes category. Letters to Santa with Mrs. Claus At the Old Stone School Saturday, December 14 11am-Noon Meet Mrs. Claus and receive personal attention as she helps children craft their letter to Santa. She will read a holiday story as kids enjoy punch and cookies. Participants receive special gifts to start celebrating the holiday season! Attention Boy Scouts! Are you looking for your Eagle Scout Project? The Concord Township Recreation Department would like to add several raised beds to the Community Garden. Call 440-639-4650 for details!

Fire Department

We would like to thank all who came out in November in support of Concord Fire. While we are disappointed, we will continue to push through and do what's right for our firefighters and our community. This outcome only changes the path, it does not change the destination! We remain grateful to this fantastic community.

Cemetery

Wreaths Across America (WAA) December 14, 2019 You are cordially invited to join us to Remember and Honor those who served and their families along with Teaching the next generation about the value of freedom at Concord Cemetery’s Wreaths Across America Ceremony. It will be held on December 14, 2019 at noon in the Concord Township Cemetery located on State Route 608, just east of Fire Station #1.  If you are interested in volunteering to help lay wreaths, please contact Karen Warner at (440) 354-7518.  The Concord Cemetery staff wishes everyone a safe and healthy Holiday Season.
