The DeepRead

Welcome to our first issue of The DeepRead, a newsletter dedicated to book-lovers & Italophiles! It's my pleasure to share my recent news & developments. I look forward, as always, to hearing from you.

Auguri di buone feste / Warmest holiday wishes,

Joseph

The 7 Fishes

Now that the holidays are here, I can't help but think back to the "the seven fishes," the Christmas Eve feast in my Calabrian home.

Read more about the seven fishes here, in a passage from
My Two Italies. Let me know about your own holiday traditions, which I hope were as tasty - and happily chaotic - as mine.
Hot off the Press

I'm thrilled to share that In a Dark Wood  is now out in a beautiful new paperback. The German translation will also appear in 2017, to go along with the  Italian edition.
In a Dark Wood (Perennial)

Here's my video trailer and NPR interview for In a Dark Wood, and an excerpt from the book in Literary Hub.
