Letter from Italy

I was honored to spend the Fall 2017 semester in beautiful Florence, where I was a Fellow at Harvard's Villa I Tatti. Highlights of my time included a talk at NYU Florence (see pic below), and an interview with the Florentine magazine here.

Transcendent Art

A highlight of my time in Italy was seeing the stunning Brancacci Chapel, painted mostly by Masaccio. It was like an "art school" in the Renaissance: Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Leonardo, among others, went there to study the work. Here's one of its gorgeous scenes; if your travels take you to Florence, I cannot recommend seeing this work highly enough.
