“Is love a cruel game we call happiness”?
I would like to start off by wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year. In this Newsletter I will address that crazy little thing we call “love”. As we mature we become wise enough to know that romance is kindled in the heart though governed by our thoughts, and the emotions they create within us.
My new book, “Demitasse Divorce” subtitled An Existential and Erotic Infidelity? , will take the reader through the minds of two lovers approaching middle age. As the two main characters are drawn to each other to fulfill their lost passions, denied them from their failed marriages, they both find themselves in an internal existential conundrum when they find themselves falling in love- Something they did not anticipate nor originally intended or wanted. As the relationship escalates with unbridled passions, and circumstances reveal themselves the reader will also find themselves in a bit of an existential enigma as they pull the pieces of the story together to discern what is the definition of infidelity. And, is the legal system the antagonist when it attempts to be the sentinel for our emotions and passions through the legal contract of marriage. As the two lovers navigate their relationship over time, the infidelity itself is questionable- though none the less real with consequences.
The book does not judge the lovers, rather lets the reader be the innocent bystander to this existential romance story, in an attempt to unravel the conundrum of what we call “love.”
