Party for the Planet!

Are you and your friends ready for something different after dark? Stand among the saguaros at Party for the Planet on Saturday, May 19, at the Desert Museum and sip on the best local brews in the Southwest. This fun evening will celebrate Endangered Species Day (#SippinForSpecies). Laugh with Tucson Improv Movement, stargaze, visit with our animated animals, and jam out to vinyl tunes with Wooden Tooth Records. $30/members, $35/non-members. Cheers to Conservation!

Do you want to play like a packrat? Our Education team has developed special (and fun) programming for your littlest packrats to love! Every Thursday and Saturday morning, these programs allow children to enjoy a 30 minute activity led by our staff, followed by 30 minutes of exclusive playtime before we open Packrat Playhouse to the public. $12/members, $15/non-members. Please note: Museum admission is not included with the program cost.  Climb, Jump, and Play!

The Desert Museum is lovely during the day, but it's even cooler  after dark. This is a fun way to beat the Tucson summer heat, while learning something neat! Every Saturday evening from May 26 through September 1, the Museum stays open until 10 p.m. Creatures of the Night  kicks off the summer festivities for two weeks, followed by World Oceans Night on June 9. Your favorite themes are back! Make sure to check out the full (and cool) schedule.  Keep It Cool!

Volunteer Viernes

We would like to congratulate our volunteers of the month, Pam Ryan and Gary Moeller. Pam is an amazing supporter in the Education department. She helps with a wide array of administrative tasks and editorial projects. Gary is a Docent two days out of seven. Along with educating guests, he has been instrumental in helping with the library move and reorganization process. We could not do what we do without them. Thank you for being such a great addition to the family.
