If you've been to the Desert Museum, you know that it's a special place. This holiday season, consider giving some of that special to your loved ones! You can choose a gift that gives back or simply a gift for goodness' sake. These gifts give twice - your loved ones receive a wild gift and you support the animals and plants in our care, research and conservation projects, and so much more! Purchase memberships, adoptions, event tickets, books and more.  Shop Today!
Noon Year's Eve

Ring in the 'Noon Year!' with all of your favorite animal friends on December 31! Ditch midnight and watch the recycling ball drop with the Desert Museum at noon! Pint-sized guests can sip on sparkling cider and apple juice, dance the day away with their favorite DJ, and make a party hat! They can also get their face painted, watch our live animal show right after the ball drops and help us make 2020 a greener year by making a conservation reZOOlution!  Event is free with Museum admission.  Countdown With Us!

Do you rave about rocks?  Dig into the wonderful world of minerals with us this January 18 & 19 at our annual Mineral Madness event! Shop for your own mineral and fossil treasures at rock-bottom prices and enjoy fun hands-on activities for families all around Museum grounds. You can also go to a rock reading (between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.)! Bring in your favorite specimen and learn from our Curator the special stories behind it. Free with Museum admission.   Rock On Out!
Morning at the Museum

Join the Desert Museum for our second annual coffee and tea event, Morning at the Museum this January 25! Sip delicious tastings from local coffee roasters and tea houses, sample sweet snacks, jam to live music, visit with engaging animals, and pot your own plant. Flower Friday
Looking for a way to bring the Sonoran Desert into your home this holiday season? Consider decorating your own agave stalk! Looking for natural ornaments? Use fishing line to hang seedpods from devil's claw, screwbean mesquite, Mexican buckeye and yucca. Bonus: This plant takes up less floor space and doesn't leave a pine needle pile. Please remember to always get permission before harvesting the stalks.  Dig Deeper!

Volunteer Viernes

We would like to congratulate our volunteers of the month for December: Mary Bedore and Dan Fennerty! Mary has been a Saturday and Monday docent for the past 9 years. Along with volunteering as a docent, she has cheerfully helped with multiple Museum events. Dan is a Saturday docent that brings excitement and enthusiasm to his volunteer shift. He especially loves sharing his knowledge of butterflies!  We could not do what we do without them. Thank you for being such a great addition to the family.
