Are you a purposeful planter? This year's Plant Sale will offer more than 250 different species, including many popular perennials and low shrubs. We'll also highlight special categories of plants that will help you create a garden filled with purpose. The Members' Only Preview sale starts on Saturday, September 29, at 6:30 a.m., with the public sale on Sunday, September 30. Pro tip:  Arrive early to snag the best steals!
Plan for the Plant Sale!

Do you want to play like a packrat? Our Education team has developed special (and fun) programming for your littlest packrats to love! Every Thursday and Saturday morning, these programs allow children to enjoy a 30 minute activity led by our staff, followed by 30 minutes of exclusive playtime before we open Packrat Playhouse to the public. $12/members, $15/non-members. Please note: Museum admission is not included with the program cost.  Climb, Jump, and Play!

Do you know about the incredible conservation work that is happening at the Desert Museum? Come visit our brand new Conservation Connections exhibit in the Orientation Ramada to learn about the different projects that are happening from our home base. You can discover the work being done with buffelgrass, pollinators, native reptiles, ants, heritage fruit trees and more. Curious about Conservation?

Flower Friday
This bizarre bloom belongs to the popular Passionfruit vine (Passiflora edulis). Not only is this decorative plant a perfect addition to your balcony or fence, it serves as a pollinator pad for butterflies and bees! You can also enjoy mouthwatering fruit starting in the summertime. These vines love to climb and can reach at least 8 feet across and just as high. You can purchase this pretty plant (and many others) at our Plant Sale this month.  Dig Deeper!

Volunteer Viernes

We would like to congratulate our volunteers of the month for September: Maya Seraphin and Ron Shoff! Maya volunteers with the Interpretive Animal Collection and is enthusiastic and extremely attentive. Ron is part of our Greeter volunteer team. He welcomes  guests with exuberance, grace, humor, and a smile. We could not do what we do without them. Thank you for being such a great addition to the family.
